Wagon Mound BPA competed in the State Competition in Albuquerque this past weekend and brought home plenty of hardware! BPA is Business Professionals of America, an extracurricular activity, that focuses on concepts of business, professionalism, leadership, and community service. Seven Wagon Mound students completed with one of those competing at the middle level.
Larae Romero, Junior, received 1st place in Banking & Finance, 1st place in Management, Marketing, & Human Resources Concepts, 4th place in Payroll Accounting, 5th place in Information Technology Concepts, and 6th place in Financial Math and Analysis Concepts.
Benito Armijo, Sophomore, recieved 1st place in Personal Financial Management, 2nd place in Computer Security, and 7th place in Information Technology Concepts.
Xavier Valdez-Hare, Sophomore, received 2nd place in Health Administration Concepts, 2nd place in Computer Programming Concepts, 2nd place in Management, Marketing, & Human Resource Concepts, 3rd place in Digital Communication & Design Concepts, 4th place in Health Insurance & Medical Bulling, 5th place in Banking and Finance, and 9th place in Digital Marketing Concepts.
Layla Whitfield, Sophomore, received 1st place in Computer Programming Concepts, 2nd place in Health Insurance & Medical Billing, 3rd place in Health Administration Concepts, 3rd place in Management, Marketing & Human Resource Concepts, and 4th place in Digital Communication & Design Concepts.
Destiny Gutierrez, Freshman, received 3rd place in Digital Marketing Concepts, 3rd place in Information Technology Concepts, 5th place in Health Insurance & Medical Billing, 5th place in Digital Communication & Design Concepts, 5th place in Management, Marketing & Human Resource Concepts, and 9th place in Banking & Finance.
Loraina Martinez, Freshman, received 1st place in Information Technology Concepts, 2nd place in Banking & Finance, 2nd place in Financial Math & Analysis Concepts, and 5th place in Payroll Accounting.
Marikita Arrellin, 8th grade, received 1st place in Financial Literacy, 1st place in Digital Citizenship, 1st place in Business Fundamentals Concepts, 1st place in Computer Literacy, 5th place in Business Communication Skills Concepts, and 10th place in Business Math.
Students who place in the top 3 of their particular events at state, will be representing Wagon Mound Public Schools at the BPA National Competition in Chicago, Illinois May 10th - 14th.
